2023 Social Media Tips from Marketing Professionals

Today we’re joined by Mimi, our social media lead at The Mina Company, who is sharing her latest tips and updating us on the recent changes to the social media landscape.

In the last several months there have been some BIG changes in social media, especially the Instagram algorithm update in September that impacted views & engagement for creators and businesses across the board. To help combat the negative implications that these changes could have, Mimi shared a few ideas to boost engagement: 

  • Prioritize original audio & content over jumping on a trend (Tip: keep original audio less than 30 seconds!)
  • Engagement is key; use CTAs and incentivize people to interact with your account 
  • The big numbers don’t matter as much as you think they do; going viral is overrated compared to gaining a slow, steady, loyal following

We’re also learning the importance of growing in your individual niche rather than accumulating a mass following, as this leads to more actual growth in your business at the end of the day! In this episode, Mimi shared 3 tips to get started on social media if you’re a business just starting out or just starting to take the world of social media marketing seriously.

Seven years of building something that didn’t fully exist yet, but I knew it could.

What started as marketing services has grown into something much more intentional. Strategy, clarity, and helping business owners understand what actually works.
